Who is Misty Star anyway?:
Misty Star Collectibles, the name at least, was born out of a Mother and Daughter
(Mona & Kristy) team putting the letters of there names together and seeing what they could come up with for an eBay user id.
Repeating the letters, they came up with a decent sized list but nothing really sounded right, until they put Misty & Star
together.
They decided on the name Misty Star Collectibles. They used this as their id on eBay, where Misty Star
Collectibles originally starting selling secondary market finds and goodies. After steady growth, in 2000 Misty Star
Collectibles finally outgrew eBay, and moved on to its own venue.
What are your privacy policies and terms?:
You can find our Privacy and Policies by following the link at the bottom of each
page. They are subject to change at anytime.
Short version: We don't spam, we don't sell your emails, we are honest. Plastic bags are not toys - Wait 30 mins after eating before you swim.
Do you have a mailing list?:
We do have an E-list. You can sign up at the top of most pages on our site by entering your email address - then following the directions in the sign-up email. You can painlessly unsubscribe at any time, by following a link on the bottom of the email.
Where do you get your stuff?:
Our inventory comes from a variety of sources. We buy from private collectors mainly. Due to high shipping costs, and to keep our overhead low (to bring you even lower prices) we buy locally. Since these items have not been bought directly from the store or from a distributor they are considered "used" even if they are in excellent shape.
What is your refund policy?:
All items are sold "as is". We have a history of being honest and fair. In the event
that you feel we have TOTALLY MISLEAD you, then we will make it right. If you ever feel like you have been mislead please
contact us immediatly so the matter can be resolved.
*Shipping Fees are not included in this offer - inital postage &
return postage. We also reserve the right to see the merchandise in question via photograph to help determine if damage was
caused by shipping. It is best to purchase insurance on all orders, we do not refund for items damaged during shipping - as we pack with the assumption a gorilla will be delivering it (or an elephant) In some cases Store Credit is given instead of a refund.
Can you hold something until I get paid?:
We can only hold items for 24/48 hours. If you would like to put something on hold - just email us. It will be marked "sold out" until you are ready to purchase it within the 24/48 hour mark. (Just let us know when you are ready.)
Can I get my banner up on your site?:
Sure! It's only $20 dollars for an entire year. They are randomly rotated. All banners are subject to approval. We will not allow banners
that are in direct competition, or banners used for profit/spam.
Banner size requirements: 50x380, JPEG only.

What exaclty do you mean by Smoke/Pet/Mildew free?:
We only post it on our plush items but it also goes for our entire stock. It means simply that when you receive an item it will not stink of smoke odors, pet odors, or smell musty. Our stock is purposfully purchased from enviroments without those three factors, and are stored without those factors.
However we cannot 100% verify the items on our site have NEVER at any time of their lives been in contact with any of those three things.
HELP! I just bought something and now I can't find it on the site - Where is it?????:
No worries! After something is sold out it is taken out of the main directories. This keeps the directories full of just in stock merchandise. Your purchase if it was the last one can be found on the Recently Sold Out page. If it was one of many it can be found in the same directory or on the Latest Additions Feed.

What payments do you accept?:

PayPal Funds Personal Checks - Payable to Kristy and Mona Heywood Money Orders - Payable to Kristy and Mona Heywood Credit Cards via Pay Pal E-Checks via Pay Pal
We do not accept credit cards over the phone.
Do I have to use PayPal?:
Even though we use Paypal for all of our online transactions, you don't have to sign up for an account. When you get to final check - click the Paypal logo to check out. Use the "Continue" button on the left hand side of the page.
If you don't want to use PayPal at all, simply print out your finished shopping cart and mail it out with your payment. (Please be sure to let us know it's coming so we can hold your items for you)
Do you accept payments over the phone?:
For security purposes we do not accept credit card orders over the phone. If you
would like to use a Credit Card please use PayPal. Google Checkout will be available soon.

Do you ship Internationally?:
Yes and No.
If the item you wish to buy is on the old site - then no, we can't ship it to you, because our old site was not set up for it. Just let us know and we can move it over to the new site for you!
If the item is on the new site then yes we can!
But how do I know if it's on the new site or old site? - Just look at the address bar if it includes "/inventory/" then that is new site.
How do you calculate shipping?:
Our domestic shipping rates are based on zipcodes. International is based on country. All rates are current pricing from the USPS. If for any reason our cart noteably overcharges you for shipping you will receive a refund after the actual shipment is made. This rings especially true with International shipping rates as some packages qualify for First Class International (based on size and under 4 pounds).
Do you only ship USPS?:
We prefer USPS (United States Post Office, but we can ship FedEx if you provide us with your account number so you can be billed for it.
How long does it take to receive my order?:
Shipping time varries with each type of payment used, and type of shipping you choose.
Orders are shipped within 24-48
hours of purchase. E-Checks delay shipping b yapprox. 3 days.
Is insurance required on my shipment?:
Insurance is not required for any shipment - but is recommened.
If you are purchasing something under $70 (USD) then insurance is built in for international orders.
Can you ship my purchase to another address as a gift?:
Yes, just configure shipping to reflect where the package will actually be going. Then at check out edit your address or fill in a ship to address. If you have difficulty adding it on, then just add it to the "Comment to Seller" section (or email it to us).
We also offer gift receipts, and gift wrapping.
Can I pick up my purchase?:
No we are an internet only business, we do not have a brick and mortar store at this time.
How is my order shipped?:
We only ship via the United States Postal Service. At MistyStar.Com, we belive the enviroment is our friend and we try our
hardest to reuse supplies, (cardboard boxes, peanuts, bubblewrap) whenever possible. We make sure each package is secure and
has plenty of room.
Game Pieces: bubble wrapped, or between rigid cardboard when needed.
Games: wrapped in plastic to prevent weathering, opening, or wear while shipping. Shipped in a box. (peanuts if necessary)
Promo Glasses: filled with peanuts, wrapped in bubble wrap, shipped in a box. (peanuts if necessary)
Dinnerware: wrapped in bubble wrap shipped in a box. (peanuts if necessary)
Glassware: wrapped in bubble wrap shipped in a box. (peanuts if necessary)
Plush: wrapped in plastic to prevent damage while shipping. Shipped in a box. (peanuts if necessary)
Misc.: determined by what it is.
