Misty Star Collectibles, the name at least, was born out of a Mother and Daughter (Mona & Kristy) team putting the letters of there names together and seeing what they could come up with for an eBay user id. Repeating the letters, they came up with a decent sized list but nothing really sounded right, until they put Misty & Star together. They decided on the name Misty Star Collectibles.
They used this as their id on eBay, where Misty Star Collectibles originally starting selling secondary market finds and goodies. After steady growth, in 2000 Misty Star Collectibles finally outgrew eBay, and moved on to its own venue.
Our site has undergone numerous changes and themes. Kristy's knowledge of programming has increased over the past few years, giving us improved code and a new look. We are currently in the process of converting all existing inventory over to the new code. With this new code the sky is the limit! (We secretly plan to take over the world)
Currently, Misty Star Collectibles is still an internet only company without a brick and mortar store. This works well for us at this point in time, as it really cuts the overhead and lets us give you the best possible prices. We have grown in size and employees. What started as a part time business has now blossomed into a full time blessing.
Simple, we love it.
